Installation

Command Line Network Installer
=========================

For environments with direct internet access, the network installation method is recommended

      **Step 1: Log in and become root on the system**

        .. code-block:: console

          sudo su -i

      **Step 2: (Optional) Configure outbound proxy settings before install**

        Required when the host reaches ``updates.atomicorp.com`` (TCP/443) only through a
        corporate HTTP/HTTPS proxy. Set these in the **same root shell** before running
        ``curl``/``wget`` so the download and the installer inherit them.

        .. code-block:: console

           export http_proxy=http://<PROXY_HOST>:<PORT>
           export https_proxy=http://<PROXY_HOST>:<PORT>
           # Optional: authenticated proxy (user:pass in the URL)
           # export http_proxy=http://<USER>:<PASS>@<PROXY_HOST>:<PORT>
           # export https_proxy=http://<USER>:<PASS>@<PROXY_HOST>:<PORT>
           # Optional: bypass proxy for local/LAN destinations
           # export no_proxy=localhost,127.0.0.1,.local

        Alternatively, pass ``--https-proxy*`` options on the installer (see Advanced options
        below) instead of or in addition to session exports.

        .. note::
           Session ``export`` values apply only to the current shell. If package downloads
           fail after the installer starts (``dnf``/``yum``), set a persistent package-manager
           proxy and re-run. On RHEL/Rocky 8+, add ``proxy=http://<PROXY_HOST>:<PORT>`` under
           ``[main]`` in ``/etc/dnf/dnf.conf`` (or ``/etc/yum.conf`` on older systems).

        .. note::
           Pre-install outbound proxy settings are for reaching Atomicorp update servers during
           network install. After install, configure product runtime proxy settings
           (``HTTP_PROXY``, ``HTTP_PROXY_PORT``, ``HTTP_PROXY_USERNAME``, ``HTTP_PROXY_PASSWORD``)
           under :doc:`/AEO/configuringAO/index` if the hub must use a proxy for ongoing updates.
           That is separate from this bootstrap step.

      **Step 3: Run the Automated AEO Hub Installer**

        .. code-block:: console

          curl -fsSL https://updates.atomicorp.com/installers/awp-hub | sh

        .. note:: See the `unattended installs`_ article for advanced instructions for unattended installations.
        .. _unattended installs: ../../misc/unattendInstall.html

      **Step 4: Log in to the Web Console: https://<IP>:30001**

                The default login will be your license username/password

Advanced options:

        .. code-block:: console

            --https-proxy=<URL> will set the https_proxy environment variable

            --https-proxy-username=<PROXY_USER> will set the https_proxy_username environment variable

            --https-proxy-password=<PROXY_PASS> will set the https_proxy_password environment variable

            --beta will install from the beta repository

            --install only install, do not configure

            --standalone local install (no hub)
